TIRANA, July 1 /ATA/ – Zero roaming charges will be applied in the Western Balkan countries, including Albania, as of Thursday, July 1, under the new Regional Roaming Agreement signed at the second WB Digital Summit in April 2019.
“Roam Like at Home’ speak more, pay less” is an initiative launched by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) to abolish roaming charges for all Albanian subscribers of mobile phone operators who visit other Western Balkan countries.
The agreement on an all-inclusive roaming area with reduced roaming charges in public mobile communications networks in the Western Balkan region was signed by the relevant ministries responsible for electronic communications of the six Western Balkan countries, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia, in Belgrade, on April 4, 2019.
The zero roaming charges initiative is a success story and will not incur losses on mobile operators.
