TIRANA, April 12/ATA/-Albania’s Customs has addressed concerns of exporters of fruits and vegetables about service offered at restricted times and has made scanning for them available non-stop.
Manager of the Scanning Project at the General Directory of Customs Ilir Mino told ATA that the Customs authorities have put the priority on the export aiming not only to lift the barriers, but also to create all the necessary space for the businesses to be competitive in the markets of the neighbouring countries of the Balkans and beyond.
“Thus, at Morina Customs in Kukës and Qafë-Thana Customs with Macedonia there is put in place a non-stop scanning service since February, ahead of the export season of fruits and vegetables”, said Mino.
In regard to the other customs stations, Mino said that they act in coordination with the counterparts.
« It means that Kakavija and Kapshtica Customs carry out scanning for as long as the Greek Customs are open”, said Mino.
According to him, the scanning process at Durrës Port Customs is related with the movement of the ferries.
Mino drew the attention to the fact that scanning process functions according to the risk analysis./a.gjonaj/ /a.g/p.s./
