State Police refute claims of Serbian police officers being deployed at protest

TIRANA, Oct 16  /ATA/ The State Police has refuted reports circulating on social media alleging that Serbian police officers have been deployed within its ranks.

In a statement, the institution said that “the dissemination of these entirely false and malicious claims seeks to exploit nationalist sentiment, fuel tensions and undermine public trust in the State Police”.

The State Police clarified that, as with all other public gatherings, only State Police officers assigned to duty under the operational measures plan were deployed at the gathering held on 15 October 2026.
“The claim that police officers from Serbia were deployed is entirely false,” the police said.
