TIRANA, Oct 16 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted today by sharing an image of a road sign knocked down by protesters. Earlier, young people had expressed their creativity by writing the words “I’ll never STOP loving you Albania” on the sign.
Rama commented in the caption below the photo of the sign, which was now lying on the ground.
“I loved Albania wholeheartedly when it had been brought to its knees, and I love it just as wholeheartedly today, when no force in the world can bring it to its knees again,” Rama wrote.
For several days, students and secondary schoolers have been staging protests in Tirana and other cities across the country. The demonstrations have been marred by incidents of violence and vandalism targeting public and private property, businesses and state institutions.
