TIRANA, Aug. 31 /ATA/ – Edith Durham School in Tirana is ready to welcome students in September following the addition of new, modern facilities for pupils and teachers.
Education Minister Mirela Kumbaro on Monday shared images of the renovated premises of the nine-year school in the capital.
“From this September, students will attend classes in their own school building, bringing an end to a long-awaited solution for families in the community and opening a new chapter for the school,” Kumbaro said.
The school now has classrooms, laboratories, sports facilities and improved conditions for teaching and extracurricular activities.
The new building has four floors, compared with the previous two-storey structure. One of the four floors is underground and is used for storing educational materials, leaving more space available for students.
The building’s other three floors are accessible by elevator, making it easier for children with disabilities to move around the school.
Another key feature of the new school is its gymnasium, which can also be used by residents of Administrative Unit 5.
