TIRANA, April 26/ATA/ The leader of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha reacted today regarding the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama in the podcast “Let’s Talk this Sunday morning regarding the strengthening Albania’s international partnerships.
Berisha said that, “PM Rama promised a strategic partnership with Greece, but instead oversaw the expiration of the friendship treaty and the creation of unnecessary, major problems.”
The leader of the DP also focused on the Mountain Package.
“Every Albanian citizen should be aware that in 2012, the Albanian Parliament approved a law according to which all those who invested in the mountainous areas of Albania would be exempt from taxes for eight years”, said Berisha.
According to him, this law was among the first that Rama canceled when he came to power.
“Now, he promises investment ease while his administration has caused unprecedented chaos in property titles. Furthermore, he pledges support for mountain areas, despite having redirected those initiatives to coastal zones like Maminas”, said Berisha.
Berisha stated that the Albanian economy is in collapse, with a decline in production and dependence on construction, while also raising concerns about food safety, which is poor.
“Food safety is almost non-existent in Albania because of the mafia”, said Berisha.
He also criticized the government for its foreign policy stance and the lack of reaction according to him to insulting statements about Albanians in North Macedonia.
“He did not say a single word about the insult, about the anti-Albanian stance of his deputy in foreign policy, in which in an irresponsible, shameful, anti-Albanian act, the Albanian citizens of North Macedonia are described as idiots. This is shameful, anti-national act!”, said Berisha. /m.q/j.p/p.s./
