TIRANA, April 5 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Sunday that budget revenues have reached -historic levels, describing the increase as a key indicator of the country’s economic progress.
Speaking on his podcast “Let’s Talk”, the government headpointed to what he called an encouraging trend in revenue growth.
“Contrary to claims of rising corruption and abuse, the economy shows that growth comes precisely as corruption and abuses decline,” he said.
Rama said the higher revenues reflect improved public administration, including more efficient tax and customs systems and reduced levels of corruption.
He added that projections indicate more than 1 billion euros in additional revenue could be collected in the current period, driven not by higher taxes but by economic expansion.
The increase is also linked to improved oversight of business transactions, both between companies and with consumers, as well as greater fiscal awareness, Rama said.
He described the revenue growth as evidence of progress across sectors and said it reflects the impact of governance reforms.
