TIRANA, April 2 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama, also chairman of the Socialist Party, held a meeting today with the Socialist Party assembly in the Municipal Unit No 14 in Tirana.
During his speech, PM Rama emphasized the fact that a growing economy means more than just numbers; it means a commitment to increasing pensions every single year.
“We have finalized a phased pension increase plan, independent of future economic variables. The initial increase implemented this January (amount ‘x’) will be doubled in January 2026, tripled in January 2027, and quadrupled in January 2028, with this quadrupled rate remaining in effect through 2029 and 2030,” said Rama.
Head of Government said that he claimed economic growth has brought more opportunities, but he also tackled accusations that this increase is driven by corruption.
“Critics claim corruption is rising, yet that contradicts reality. If corruption were actually increasing, we wouldn’t see state revenues soaring or have the capacity to raise salaries. These financial improvements prove that our efforts are working, not failing”, Rama continued. /e.i/a.f/p.s./
