TIRANA, March 21 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama, also Chairman of the Socialist Party, announced today that additional responsibilities and competencies will be assigned to the prefects of the country’s 12 districts.
Addressing the National Assembly of the Socialist Party, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that prefects will be entrusted with expanded authority. ‘The project has been finalized, and consequently they will no longer serve as officials endorsing city council decisions, but will operate as twelve Deputy Ministers of Interior across the territory,’ Rama stated.
Rama stated that prefects will serve as a strong pillar of support for both the government and local communities, addressing the full range of needs currently faced by municipalities. He further underlined that today marks the launch of a genuine campaign within and for the Socialist Party, undertaken in the service of the people.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said he would not elaborate on the major investments in tourism and infrastructure now on track to implementation, but stressed that these projects must become part of the broader narrative of the current period.
