TIRANA, March 15 /ATA/ – Main opposition Democratic Party (DP) leader Sali Berisha said on Sunday that Prime Minister Edi Rama cannot unilaterally close the ongoing parliamentary issue involving former Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Belinda Balluku, accusing him of shielding her from accountability.
In a video statement, Berisha called the matter “the Balluku issue” and said it has become an international concern.
“The Balluku case is now an international issue, and Edi Rama cannot close it in his parliament,” he said.
Berisha also criticized plans to relocate the Port of Durrës to Porto Romano, claiming the new facility would be significantly smaller than both the existing Durrës port and regional ports, citing comparisons to Port of Thessaloniki and Port of Piraeus.
He further attributed high fuel prices in Albania to steep taxes, dubbing them the “Rama price,” and urged citizens to join an anti-government protest scheduled for March 22.
