PRISHTINA, March 10 /ATA/ – Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti held a phone call with the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos to discuss the country’s reform progress and its path toward EU integration.
According to the Prime Minister’s office, the two discussed the EU’s enlargement process and Kosovo’s ongoing reforms aimed at advancing its bid to join the bloc.
Kurti stressed that integration into the European Union remains a key priority for the Kosovo government and highlighted the importance of obtaining EU candidate status as a major step toward membership.
He also noted that among the first decisions taken by the Assembly of Kosovo was the approval of a new state budget worth 4 billion euros, alongside the adoption of an 882.6-million-euro Growth Plan aimed at accelerating reforms and boosting economic development.
Following the plan’s approval, a series of implementation steps are expected in the first half of this year, closely linked to the passage of legislation in parliament and amounting to around 90 million euros, the statement said.
Kurti and Kos also discussed current developments in Kosovo and the wider region, noting that Kosovo is fully aligned with the EU’s foreign and security policy and has joined all EU sanctions packages against Russia in response to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
