TIRANA, March 10 /ATA/ – Eight newly graduated doctors have joined the medical staff of the Vlora Regional Hospital, strengthening healthcare services and supporting patients with professional care, Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Tuesday.
In a post on social media, Rama said the new group of doctors is working alongside existing staff at the hospital in Vlora, providing daily care to patients with dedication, professionalism and renewed energy.
The recruitment comes as part of a broader effort to reinforce public hospitals across Albania with new teams of doctors and nurses.
Following the reopening in 2015 of the long-term medical specialization programme, authorities have implemented what they describe as a sustainable model for distributing doctors across the country, strengthening services in regional and municipal hospitals.
In recent years, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Albania has also introduced a transparent and merit-based recruitment mechanism through the “Doctors for Albania” and “Nurses for Albania” online portals.
The hiring of young doctors and nurses aims to address staffing needs across various specialties in regional and municipal hospitals, the government said.
