Rama: Diaspora to be kept in the loop about developments locally and across the country

TIRANA, Jan 17 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that a diaspora summit is scheduled for this spring.

Speaking at a meeting with mayors in Durrës, Rama highlighted the importance of the Albanian diaspora, noting that it represents not only an investment potential but also an integral part of the nation and its communities.

The Prime Minister asked mayors to play an active role in organizing the summit, noting that their recommendations are essential for deciding which citizens will be invited.

“Your involvement will be crucial, both in organizing the diaspora summit this spring—where your recommendations on who should be invited will be highly valued—and in finding ways to engage and keep each municipality’s communities abroad connected, integrated, and abreast of developments locally and across the country,” Rama said.
