Rama: Compensation for flood-affected families is government’s priority

TIRANA, January 11/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that the compensation of the flood-affected families is the government priority.

In the “Flasim” (Let’s Talk) podcast in the feature “Weekly Reflections”, Rama focused on the recent situation caused by heavy rainfall, noting that no one will be left without care.

The prime minister stated that the motto “You will never be alone” is a guiding principle whenever the country and people face disasters, from the devastating earthquake to the damage caused by floods, fires or other emergency situations.

He assured the families affected by the recent floods that the state stands by them with the same human, state and political dignity, fulfilling every obligation, both for housing and for livestock.

According to the prime minister, the work of the institutions will not stop with the improvement of weather conditions, but will continue with the repair of damage to infrastructure and compensation of the affected families.

“The verification teams have been on the ground since day one, while the Ministry of Finance has prepared in advance the plan with the compensation scenarios and is awaiting the completion of the verifications to move to the compensation phase,” he said.

Referring to previous events in the past, the prime minister underlined that the government has paid back the debts inherited from previous floods and has not created any more such obligations towards citizens, emphasizing that this is an Albania that no longer leaves its people alone, stated Rama. /J.p/p.s./
