TIRANA, January 6 /ATA/ 23 forces and 8 vehicles of the Civil Emergency Support Base have been deployed in the city of Durrës, which was affected by heavy rainfall.
Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu is closely monitoring the flooding situation in the city of Durrës, where the Armed Forces are engaged on the ground to deal with the emergency.
Vengu said that there are being used 7 motor pumps to deal with the flooding situation, 4 of which are of high-capacity.
According to him, the vehicles are operating in Shkozet area and on Durrës-Tirana highway to manage the situation on the ground.
Meanwhile, on the Durrës ring road, under the coordination of the National Civil Protection Agency, the vehicles and personnel of the Support Command are working non-stop to remove the water.
The Armed Forces are on the ground to guarantee the safety of citizens and to transport residents whose homes have been affected by the floods, who will be accommodated in the Army’s Convalescence.
The rain has caused problems in the movement of vehicles and citizens in several areas of the coastal city.
