TIRANA, Dec 29 /ATA/ – The village of Lëpusha in northern Albania’s Malësi e Madhe region, often described as a “gem” of the Albanian Alps, continues to attract visitors throughout the year.
Set amid high mountains, including the rocky Shënik mount in the Accursed Mountains, the area is known for its green pastures and dense forests.
Prime Minister Edi Rama on Monday shared images from Lëpusha’s mountains, highlighting the area’s calm alpine landscape and its potential for ecotourism and outdoor activities.
Malësi e Madhe is increasingly emerging as a destination for mountain and family tourism, drawing both domestic and foreign visitors in all seasons.
Officials say the region’s natural assets, traditional hospitality and the growth of agritourism are helping position it as a promising destination for sustainable tourism.
The area attracts visitors interested in mountain climbing, adventure tourism, winter sports and nature-based activities.
