TIRANA, December 22 /ATA/ Minister of Environment Sofjan Jaupaj visited today Tirana’s Glass Hub where recycling gets transformed into art and innovation.
“While applying the Zero Waste philosophy, the old bottles and jars are transformed into artisanal creations. Under the direction of artist Joana Dhiamandi, the recycled glass is transformed by hand into decorative objects and functional products that promote the circular economy and care for the environment,” said Jaupaj.
Minister Jaupaj praised the collection inspired by the Vjosa river as impressive, which according to him, “is a real jewel that shows that protecting nature also inspires industry”.
“Tirana’s Glass Hub is a model of the circular economy in which glass materials do not end up in landfills or waste collection points and are recycled through these products”, underlined Jaupaj.
Minister Jaupaj stated that, “The future is all about recycling. I am convinced that the business will grow and will also become a brand through reusing materials in such a creative way”.
Every product produced by Tirana’s Glass Hub has no waste, no crumbs go to waste as a result of the technique used for their production.
The collections come from Albanian nature such as Alta Blu which has the element of Ionian Sea water, the Vjosa collection has the Vjosa river, and the other collections have some forms that may be more universal. Alta Blu, Vjosa and “Zana” sweets, which according to Dhimandi are the most favorite and most sought after.
In addition to creating beautiful products, Tirana Glass Hub promotes awareness for environmental protection and Albania in the international arena. /k.s/p.s./
