TIRANA, July 26/ATA/ MP of the Democratic Party in opposition Jorida Tabaku said today in the Assembly that the elections should not be the domain of anyone, nor of any privileged group.
In her speech while the changes in the Electoral Code were being discussed, Tabaku said that, “Just as MP Gjiknuri clearly put it today, we do not have an electoral reform, today we are approving some changes that were dictated to us by the Constitutional Court”.
Tabaku further said that, “I am for a majority system, a system like the one that was before 2009, a system where each of us would have the opportunity to test his work, his merit, his commitment to the citizens; this is democracy, this is politics”.
“Today, we are doing the minimum possible, what the Constitutional Court asks of us, so that the parliament does not close the session by violating the decisions of the Constitutional Court, but we are not offering a comprehensive, transparent, discussed and debated reform, which solves some of the main problems that we all experienced in the elections”, said Tabaku.
“Like always, continued Tabaku, we have made last-minute changes and this happens due to the lack of political will, which is not given by the opposition, but by the majority. /k.s/p.s./
