TIRANA, July 26 /ATA/ – The Minister of Interior Taulant Balla on Friday received the United States Chargé d’Affaires in Albania David Wisner on the occasion of ending his tenure in the country.
Interior Minister appreciated the U.S. diplomat Wisner for the excellent cooperation and the U.S. assistance to Albania to enhance capacities in the face of public security challenges, in the fight against organized crime and corruption, and the fight against illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and human beings.
Balla expressed gratitude for the assistance programmes and support for Albania’s State Police and the Police Supervision Agency through ICITAP, DEA, INL etc.
“Together with the United States of America, Albania is part of the Global Coalition to Address Synthetic Drug Threats to coordinate concrete measures against synthetic drugs production, trafficking and sale to young people and other users,” Balla said.
