Balla inspects Hani i Hotit Border Crossing Point

TIRANA, Aug 28 /ATA/ Minister of Interior Taulant Balla held a meeting with the State Police structures at the Hani i Hoti Border Crossing Point in Shkodra.

In his remarks, Balla congratulated the police for the work done to ensure the smooth running of the tourist season and handling of the influx crossing both border points, Muriqan and Hani i Hoti, as well as underlined that the work should continue at the same pace.

“You have managed to ensure the smooth running of the tourist season and handle the influx of travelers crossing both border points under the responsibility of this directorate, both Muriqan and Hani i Hotit.”

There was an influx of travelers like never before.

I am glad about the coordination, even under the stewardship of the director Boshnjaku, with the border police of the Republic of Montenegro. I myself, either with Prime Minister Abazovic or with Interior Minister Adzic, have been in touch to switch to a more relaxed regime when necessary. And I want to tell you that as long as the season is far from over, the work should continue at this pace.”

Balla also emphasized the importance of increasing the readiness to detect any form of border crime.

“This is an important point, it not only connects Albania with Montenegro, but it is part of the “Blue Corridor” and naturally a large number of European citizens, who depart from the north of Europe, choose to pass through this point as well to come to Albania or to continue down. So I want to congratulate you for your work, meanwhile it is needed increased readiness to identify any form of border crime.”
