Rama: Agreement on railway and Blue Corridor

TIRANA, February 27/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that, “Albania and Montenegro must synchronize the work for the railway and the Blue Corridor”.

The Blue Corridor is a future motorway that will stretch along the entire eastern shore of the Adriatic and Ionian seas, spanning the western coast of the Balkan Peninsula from Italy in the north through Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, and Albania to Greece in the south.

In the joint press conference with Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovic, Rama emphasized today the significance of promoting further the cooperation in terms of absorbing funds for international projects.

“Albania has progressed in both of these projects, but it is very important that Montenegro also pushes from the other side, because otherwise, the financing of these projects becomes more difficult, since the financiers nay be right to ask: Yes, you will build the railway up to the border, but then how will it be done? Or will they get off the train and take the boat to take the goods further?” – said Rama./r.e/p.s./
