TIRANA, Dec 7 /ATA/ President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, held a meeting with the US ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim.
In a posting on social media, Kim thanked President Begaj for the opportunity to express congratulations for hosting the EU – Western Balkans summit – first time this summit has been held outside Brussels.
“The US strongly supports Albania’s efforts to undertake necessary steps – including justice reform – to join EU,” Kim said.
“We also reviewed achievements in 2022 – as NATO Allies, fellow UN Security Council members and best of friends – that brought US-Albania relations to historic highs.”
“ Looking forward to doing even more together in 2023 to strengthen US-Albania cooperation on democracy, defense and business,” Kim said.
