TIRANA, September 29 /ATA/ This is the first year that the Tirana International Film Festival will also give an award for the best script.
The call was announced one year ago and closed in May 2022. The festival received 85 scripts from 23 different countries around the world. One of the application criterion was that the script should be original, i.e. not adapted from other works; and it should belong to the live-action genre or be a script for short, animated films and no longer than 30 pages.
The selection process focused not on choosing the best script, but the most likely scenario to be realized by TIFF’s partners, producers and distributors, taking into account the fact that the final product would be successful in festivals dedicated to short feature films.
Another criterion taken into account was the fact that if the scenarios were easily realized in Europe, then why shouldn’t be possible for the filming to be done in Albania as well.
TIFF’s partners have chosen 10 scripts as candidates, from which the winner of the Distribution Award from “Maluki Films” will emerge, giving him the chance to sign a contract on the day of the awards, September 30, 2022.
