Design and innovation take center stage at Tirana International Fair, where over 70 Italian companies showcase their projects

TIRANA, November 4 /ATSH/ – Design as a bridge between tradition and innovation, along with opportunities for collaboration between Albanian and Italian businesses, were the focus of the panel “Tradition as a Living Project,” held as part of the 32nd edition of Tirana International Fair. Italian company representatives and professionals discussed how heritage, craftsmanship and technology can be integrated to create new products and business models.

In this edition, more than 70 Italian companies from various regions—including Apulia, Lazio, Campania, Veneto and Marche—presented their products and services, aiming to build bridges of cooperation with the Albanian market.

According to Italian architect and designer Pierangelo Caramia, one of the primary challenges lies in a company’s ability to absorb new ideas and transform them into development opportunities, without needing to fundamentally alter its existing operational methods.

Another example of blending tradition with contemporary approaches comes from the Pimar company, which specializes in the processing of Italian limestone. Mary Marrocco presented the story of a business that has preserved traditional craftsmanship for four generations, while simultaneously evolving it through experimentation and new creative ideas.

“Based in the heart of Salento, Pimar is renowned for its unique tradition of working with limestone. While remaining faithful to its history and roots in the past, the company successfully blends this heritage with experimentation and fresh, creative approaches. For four generations, its production process has embodied the essence of Italian craftsmanship in the shaping of an ancient stone,” said Marrocco.

The 32nd edition of the Tirana International Fair, held at the Palace of Congresses, continues to aim at strengthening ties between local and international businesses. Beyond showcasing products and services, the fair serves as a meeting point for exchanging experiences, forging partnerships and unlocking new market opportunities beyond national borders. /e.i/j.p/p.s./
