Selmanaj: Funding for rural development increases twofold

TIRANA, Jan 11 /ATA/ The Director of the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development, Eranda Selmanaj, said that “the support addressed to livestock aims at a series of programs funded by the state budget, but also by the IPARD II Program.”

During the meeting on livestock, organized in recent days by the agribusiness in Laknas, Tirana, Selmanaj said, that “subsidizing livestock has improved and facilitated work processes, introducing technology on farms.”

According to her, the implementation of new technologies, the digitalization of the sector, helps farmers, but also consumers.

Selmanaj stressed that this year the government has increased twice as much the funding for rural development.
About 636% of farmers in 12 regions of the country applied to the National Support Scheme for Agriculture 2021, to benefit subsidies in livestock.

ARDA states that 1899 farmers were beneficiaries of the livestock support measure, from 3400 which was the total number of qualified applications countrywide.
