TIRANA, January 7 /ATA/ Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha pointed today at the former prime minister Sali Berisha saying that, “Since September, when he expelled Berisha from the Parliamentary group of the DP because he was declared non-grata by the USA, Berisha has attempted to make noise and deviate the focus of the opposition battle and in doing so, he has given oxygen to the government”.
Basha argued that Berisha has called a protest of the DP for his own troubles that were not caused by the DP and which the DP cannot solve. “Thus, as a matter of fact, it is a protest against the USA”, said Basha.
Basha turned down Berisha’s claims that he has breached the statute of the party because the decision to expel him was not put on vote at the Leading Board and the National Council of the Party.
“On December 18th National Assembly, the DP confirmed its stance on corruption and on persons declared non-grata by the DP”, said Basha.
Basha called on the democrats to distance themselves from certain scenarios of violence prepared with the purpose of destabilization and destruction of the Democratic Party./k.s/a.a/r.e/p.s./
