TIRANA, Dec 11 /ATA/- Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, who stays in touch with the Irrigation and Drainage Directorates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, which have mobilized the staff and are closely monitoring the situation in the country, has updated the information on incessant rainfall.
The Minister says that in the area of Vlora and Fier, the level of Vjosa River has risen.
“We are closely following the water level. The structures are working at full capacity,” says Krifca.
She says that in the area of Berat the Osum River has swollen due to rainfall. There are increasing water levels in drainage canals, although the latter operate at full capacity. Also in the area of Gjirokastra, the level of Drino River has risen. While, in the areas of Shkodra, Lezha, Kurbin, Durres, there are no problems so far. In the area of Korça, despite the increased levels of Devoll River, so far no waterlogging is reported.
“All pumping stations are working at full capacity. We are on the ground, closely following the situation “, said Minister Krifca.
