TIRANA, Oct.18/ATA/ Valamara Summit, in Gramsh, a tourist paradise located in the highest parts of the mountains as glaciers covered the mountains and created its cirque-shaped lakes, is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations.
The Municipality of Gramsh shared today on the social media images from Valamara lakes, as an evocative point to enjoy mountain tourism, among the most interesting and untapped attractions in Albania.
One of the main reasons to visit Mount Valamara are the three glacial lakes, located about 2200 meters above sea level, near the village of Lenie.
The lakes have surface areas of 300 meters in length and 200 meters in width, with crystal clear cold water.
Valamara Lakes create an interesting ecosystem and also have geological, ecological and cultural values.
The area is suitable for hiking, mountain climbing, cave exploration and other outdoor activities.
Valamara Mountain is 2373 m in height on the border between the districts of Korça, Gramsh and Pogradec. It is bordered on the north by Guri i Topit, and on the south by Lenie. It is built mainly of ultrabasic rocks.
There are numerous forms of glacial relief and glacial lakes (over 1600 meters above sea level). The Shkumbin River flows on the eastern slopes, while the Devolli flows on the western and southeastern slopes. The vegetation consists of beech and pine forests in the lower part and rich summer pastures in the upper part. //a.i/
