Commission of Inquiry into April 25 elections

TIRANA Oct 18 /ATA/ – By I.Vata/ The Commission of Inquiry was constituted on Monday to control the activity of public administration bodies and local government and verify the use of state administration resources for electoral purposes in the April 25, 2021 elections.

The commission of inquiry into April 25, 2021 elections has gathered on Monday under the chairmanship of Enkelejd Alibeaj to review the agenda.

The deputy chairman of this commission, Toni Gogu, a representative of the Socialist Party, requested the constitution on today’s meeting and postponement of other items on the agenda for the next meeting.

The member of the commission Gazment Bardhi said that “the problem with the makeup of commission is the number of members, which is 16. According to him, one of the colleagues of the majority should not be a member of the commission, because the substitute members do not participate in the meeting as the law stipulates that the Commission of Inquiry has 9 members and no more than 15.

First, Bardhi continued, “the commission must have approved the regulation, which is standardized, certified several times by every investigative commission established for years.”

The commission consists of: Enkelejd Alibeaj, chairman, Toni Gogu, deputy chairman, members Klotilda Bushka, Blerina Gjylameti, Aurora Mara, Klevis Xhoxhi, Nasip Naço, Petro Koçi, Bardhyl Kollçaku from SP; Gazmend Bardhi, Oerd Bylykbashi, Ferdinand Xhaferraj, Ervin Salianji, Kreshnik Çollaku from DP and Petrit Vasili, independent MP. Each of the parliamentary groups also appointed substitute members; Xhemal Qefalia, Etien Xhafaj from SP, Arbi Agalli, Lindita Metaliaj from DP.

The chairman of the commission, Alibeaj declared the constitution of the Commission of Inquiry for April 25, 2021 elections.
