TIRANA, July 8/ATA/ The State Police launched on Wednesday evening the operation codenamed “Semi-final”, with the aim of identifying and stopping persons who practice online betting.
The police announced on Thursday that, 1100 police officers were involved in the operation, specifically from the Sectors of Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime in each Local Police Directorate, the Special Force “Eagles”, the General Patrols and some groups of Rapid Intervention Forces under the direction of the Criminal Police Department in the State Police.
Pursuant to tasks of the Measures Plan drafted by the General Directorate of State Police “On the control of the territory, identification, documentation, prevention and crackdown on illegal gambling activity”, 656 premises have been controlled nationwide on suspicion of carrying out illegal gambling activities. //a.i/
