TIRANA, April 30 /ATA/ For the first time in the history of Albanian women’s football, our national team has climbed to the fourth pot, already ranking in the middle level teams in Europe.
To talk about the development of women’s football, fshf.org conducted an interview with the head of the Women’s Football Sector in the Albanian Football Federation Florian Riza who explained in more detail the strategy built, operation and development until now of women’s football.
“Our women’s football, especially the national team has a significant development. In the first years of the creation of the National team, we were worthy rivals of teams around Albania such as Macedonia, Kosovo, Greece and Montenegro. We have already moved to another level, we have moved to the level of average teams, we are ranked 33rd in Europe in terms of women’s football. We believe that by financially stimulating women’s football, we will achieve the goals we have set or we will change the fourth pot and I believe that we will achieve it within the qualifiers of the World Cup, going to the third”, said Riza.
“The results do not come by chance. Our national team relies entirely on the team of “Vllaznia” Shkodra, which has made dignified appearances in the Champions League for women, both last season and this season, ranking in the 32 best teams in Europe earlier and in the season passed by passing rounds “, continues Florian Riza for fshf.org.
“We have made a scheme of incentivizing women’s football, for the first time applied in this form and fully approved by the Executive Committee and UEFA. It is being massively funded for women’s football and we are talking about a financial increase of over 200%. These are done only for women’s football to experience continuous growth and all football clubs in Albania to be clear that women’s football is a sport to develop, to invest, to be seen as men’s football.
