TIRANA, March 31/ATA/ At the new entrance of Tirana (former “Shqiponja” Square) another tunnel for the movement of vehicles has been opened, further easing the movement for drivers.
On Wednesday evening, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku closely inspected the work done and the further continuation of the works and said that, “The work is continuing with intensity for the completion of this complex work which will to give to the capital a dignified entrance gate.”
“According to the project we are implementing, we will no longer have traffic jams as we had until now due to the construction site where we were working. The works went according to the schedule; we did not have any delays. We have been very careful to meet all the technical requirements, as all parts of the construction site must provide maximum safety to be available for traffic. This is a standard that has been set since the beginning of the time when the works started despite the increased pressure of the citizens for the increased traffic “- said Balluku.
We are delivering some of the parts of this project before the deadline, but with full criteria and safety without neglecting anything.
Balluku said that the work has already been completed on the tunnel three, 240 meters long. While tunnel 4 is 160 meters long.
The tunnels have two lanes, which means that there are 4 lanes for entering Tirana.
“All tunnels in “Shqiponja” Square will be managed by a control center, while we prepare for the works at the Kashar Node” – said Balluku./p.s./
