TIRANA, March 11/ATA/- The Bank of Albania (BoA) reported on Thursday that, in January 2021 the non-performing loans increased by 8.2% compared to 8.11% at the end of 2020.
According to the BoA, the minimal increase in non-performing loans does not deviate this indicator from the stable levels it has recorded in recent years.
The stability of the non-performing loan ratio was greatly affected by the easing regulatory measures undertaken by the BoA, including the postponement of loan installments for a period of 6 months, or the restructuring of loans, helping individuals and businesses to provide more liquidity during the difficult times of the pandemic.
At the end of January, the loan portfolio grew by 6.6% compared to the same period a year earlier. //a.i/
