TIRANA, May 18 /ATA/ – The chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha stated Monday that opposition will continue to support all future protests organized by the Alliance for the Theater Protection in Tirana following the demolition of the Theatre building a day ago.
“The opposition and the Democratic Party will support all protests of the Alliance over the National Theatre here in Tirana and will stand by citizens wherever they rally to protest,” Basha told reporters at the end of the today’s rally.
“As you and whole Albania already saw today, Edi Rama’s only and last hope that by inciting fear and terror he would quell energy and desire of Albanians for change is now over,” Basha said.
According to him, the demolition of the National Theatre “doesn’t mark the end of the theatre, culture and art, but the beginning of the end of tyranny.”
