TIRANA, May 18/ATA/- Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in cooperation with the World Bank is making a large investment in the rehabilitation of irrigation and drainage system in Maliq municipality.
Under the Irrigation Schemes Rehabilitation Project the agricultural irrigated land in this area has doubled.
The investments consisted mainly in the rehabilitation of existing irrigation canals in the villages of: Pojan, Zëmblak, Burimas, Terovë, Goce, Gjyras, Bickë, Fshat Maliq, Plovisht, Libonik, Drithas, Vloçisht and Vashtëmi.
While work is underway on cleaning the Reka canal collecting waters from Libonik area. The 2 km long canal blocked due to rubbish, grease, tree roots caused flooding of agricultural lands, occupying about 40 ha. //a.i/
