TIRANA, May 17 /ATA/ –By I. Vata/ – the British Embassy in Tirana on Sunday regretted the missed opportunity for dialogue between political parties and called upon everyone to ensure that protests are peaceful, saying the violence undermines the basic principles of democracy.
“Deeply concerned by missed opportunities for dialogue over the National Theatre building and episodes of violence in Albania,” British Embassy in Tirana said in a statement.
British Embassy also noted that violence undermines the principles of democracy and called on all involved parties to make sure that protests are peaceful.
“We support the democratic right to protest and call upon all involved to ensure they are peaceful. Violence undermines basic principles of democracy,” the Embassy said.
