TIRANA, May 17 /ATA/ –By I. Vata/ – Swedish Ambassador to Albania, Elsa Håstad, joined Sunday the appeal issued by the Embassy of Great Britain in Tirana following the tense situation after the demolition of the National Theatre building.
Swedish Ambassador emphasized that violence undermines the basic principles of democracy and called on all parties for dialogue.
“Deeply concerned by missed opportunities for dialogue over the National Theatre building and episodes of violence in Albania. We support the democratic right to protest and call upon all involved to ensure they are peaceful. Violence undermines basic principles of democracy,” the British Embassy said in a statement earlier today.
