TIRANA, April 22 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama said Wednesday that a significant number of the individuals and businesses whose applications for the so-called wartime salary under the first support package were refused, have received an e-mail from the General Taxation Directorate confirming that they are eligible to benefit a payment of 40, 000 lek, or $400 under the second extended package.
“So, their applications have not been rejected, but they are entitled to benefit under the extended support package and some 11,000 out of 13,000 applicants will now receive a salary of 40,000 lek,” the Premier said.
The government head explained that the verification process of the complaints forwarded by applicants will complete this week and thousands of other people will be eligible to benefit the bonus.
Commenting on the Covid-19 outbreak, PM Rama said the situation is rather positive, but he warned against self-complacency, saying people shouldn’t think we have got away with it and that the war is not over.
