TIRANA, Jan 5 /ATA/- The snow falls that have swept northern and northeastern areas of the country have not caused any disruption to circulation of vehicles.
The Albanian Road Authority in a press release rounds up the situation of main road axes in the country.
Northern region
Though snow has started to fall in Tropojë- Dibër and Fushë Arrëz-Kukës, it has not caused any disruption to the traffic.
The crews of maintenance company have scattered salt on the roads.
Central region
After the snowfalls in Steblevë, the motorway was cleared and sprinkled with salt, hence the traffic is running smoothly.
Southern region
The light snowfalls have begun in the following segments:
– Qafë Thanë-Korçë-Kapshticë
– Qafë e Qarrit-Korçë-Ersekë
– Boboshticë-Dardhë
– Korçë-Voskopojë
– Zëmblak-Goricë.
In all segments the traffic is possible without chains.
Contractors are on the ground and on standby to deal with whatever situation with the aim of guaranteeing normal traffic on all axes. The drivers should exercise caution, reduce the speed, adhere to guidelines of Road Police on winter tires and chains, respect the horizontal and vertical road signage.
