TIRANA, Jan 5 /ATA/ Road Police have taken extra measures on all urban, interurban and rural roads for prevention of road accidents.
In Tirana, Lezha, Durrës, Fier, Elbasan, Trucam radars have been installed to monitor and prevent road accidents which happen as a result of drivers exceeding speed limit.

Measures also to prevent road accidents caused by driving under the influence of alcohol or driving while intoxicated.

As a result of these measures, in the last 24 hours some 176 driving licenses have been suspended for exceeding the speed limits, of which 51 in Tirana, 47 in Durrës, 49 in Lushnjë-Fier by Operational Unit of Road Police, 15 in Lezha and 14 in Elbasan.
Meanwhile, 235 administrative measures have been taken across the country for failure to regulate speed, especially in residential centers and speed of no more than 20 km / h above the permitted rates.
