TIRANA, Nov 27 /ATA/ – European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on Wednesday sent a letter to the President of the Republic Ilir Meta and the Prime Minister Edi Rama following a powerful predawn earthquake on Tuesday.
Expressing his most sincere condolences to the families of victims and all Albanian citizens, Juncker underlines that Albania can count on full support from the European Union.
“It is with great sadness that I learned of the devastating earthquake that hit Albania, the second in the last two months,” Juncker wrote in his letter.
“I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families of victims and all Albanian citizens,” he said.
“The European Union stands in solidarity with Albania in these tragic moments and you can count on full support from our side,” the EC President Jean Claude Junker concluded his letter.
