TIRANA, October 9 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama on Wednesday arrived in Serbia’s Novi Sad, where he met Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, and Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, at an official dinner.
The meeting takes place ahead of a ceremony as the three leaders are expected to sign a deal seen as a mini Schengen agreement within the Balkans that would allow free movement of people and goods in the region.
Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic also attended the dinner.
Earlier in September, Prime Minister Rama announced the meeting in an interview during his most recent visit to New York, saying: “A meeting between Albania, Serbia and North Macedonia is expected to take place to discuss steps of cooperation between the countries. Of course, this meeting does not exclude other countries, but it is an invitation for the neighbours to join.”
Rama said that the idea of a regional mini Schengen was a top priority.
