TIRANA, September 11/ATA/- Venice Commission experts held Wednesday a meeting with the members of the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee on the dismissal of President of the Republic, Ilir Meta.
The meeting started at 9:00 am in the headquarters of the Parliament.
Head of Venice Commission Delegation, Kaarlo Heikki Tuori stated that, they had already gathered the information they requested from the meetings. He stressed that the final report would be presented on October 11th at the next Venice Commission plenary session.
“We held a meeting with the delegation of the Venice Commission following the majority’s initiative to dismiss President of the Republic, Ilir Meta for serious violations of the Constitution and the well established target of the Commission of Inquiry, the investigation of this issue by the Investigation Commission set up based on the Decision No. 84/2109 of the Parliament of Albania, “the Chairman of Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry, Ulsi Manja stated.
“We shared the view that the Commission of Inquiry and the Commission of Venice will deal with this case legally in the light of the highest professional and constitutional principles and standards and with the utmost objectivity, aiming at establishing a first-of-its-kind parliamentary legal tradition for Albania, ” Manja said./a.i/
