TIRANA, August 27/ATA/-“The resolution of the current political crisis in Albania goes through early elections,” said the Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha today after meeting at the DP headquarters with the deputy chair of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group for Europe Katja Leikert.
In a statement to reporters, Basha said the meeting with the CDU / CSU parliamentary group vice president is another proof that this crisis can be resolved through free and fair elections, where Albanian citizens will have the opportunity to say their word by a vote free and unaffected by crime. According to him, a transitional government without Edi Rama would mean early parliamentary elections on the same day with local elections.
“The DP and the opposition are in constant communication with the international factor. The meeting with the Vice President was part of this communication that continues intensively and on a daily basis. The united opposition and the DP are determined, and the goal they set themselves is to serve the citizens rather than offer artificial solutions for the sake of our chairs or our power. The solution to the crisis will come through those mechanisms and those guarantees that will prevent every future government from falling into a trap,” said he.
Speaking about the opposition’s action, Basha warned the protests would be bigger and more powerful.
“The opposition has continued its action throughout the summer, but together with the citizens will continue larger and more powerful protests and will focus more on the solutions we offer Albanians. We are working with our program every day continuing in September with the small business and farmers and on the other hand we will make “Albania like Europe” our platform,” said he./j.p/p.s./
