TIRANA, August 27/ATA/- The Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) reported Tuesday that the air passenger and air freight traffic grew in July 2019, compared to the same period of the previous year.
In July 2019, the air passenger transport accounted for 61,3 % of the total.
According to official data published by INSTAT, in the first seven months of 2019, the number of air passengers reached 1 796 867, increasing by 11,2 % compared to the same period of the previous year.
In July 2019, the total volume of air freight accounted for 203 tons, increasing by 12,5 % compared to the same month of 2018.
Meanwhile, in the 7-month period 2019, cargo transported by air accounted for 1 348 tons, a 7,4% increase compared to the same period a year earlier.
Also, INSTAT reported that, in July 2019, Albania’s Mother Teresa International Airport hosted 3 216 take-offs and landings, showing a 16,6% increase compared to the same month of 2018.//a.i/
