TIRANA, May 14 /ATA/ – Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance chaired by Arben Ahmetaj held Tuesday a hearing on INSTAT annual report for 2018.
Official statistics produced by INSTAT help institutions develop sustainable financial and economic policies.
Invited to present the annual activity report of the Institute of Statistics for 2018 was Delina Brahimaj, Director General of INSTAT who listed a number of important statistical activities conducted during 2018 in the field of economic statistics: release of annual and quarterly gross domestic product statistics, release of manufacturing account and revenue generation by institutional sector, consumer price index. labor market and income statistics.
In the area of social statistics, the production of population indicators, statistics of education, health indicators, whereas in the field of agriculture and environment: publication of milk indicators, indicators on cultivated agricultural areas, forestry and pastures. Brahimaj stressed the fact that during 2018 INSTAT has increased the number of publications from 137 in 2017 to 159 in 2018, of which twelve have not been published before, such as the publication of statistics on small and medium –sized enterprises, publication of tourism figures.
