TIRANA, May 14 /ATA/ The DP head, Lulzim Basha, stated that there is no turning back from our road. In a news briefing from DP headquarters, Basha spoke about the opposition protest staged on Monday pointing out that it sent out a clear national message that there will be no turning back.
“We will take steps forward. Our union knows no borders. It is a popular union. I also thank the socialists who joined the protest. We are fighting a battle for transformation of Albania.
This participation of big proportions is a testimony of the faith in our cause,” Basha said.
He thanked the reporters and cameramen who worked in difficult conditions to cover the protest which included a 9.5 km march.
You participated in an epic march that does not compare to any other event. It was held in the background of heavy rains that lasted 4 hours. It was a memorable event, “said Basha.
“I have a message for the hostage-taker of freedom, democracy, the man who has blocked the entry to EU that there will be no turning back.” Our union has crossed political boundaries of opposition supporters because it is a popular union. This is not a battle for power, it is a battle for transformation which starts from free vote.”
