Non-performing loans hit 11.4% in February

TIRANA, April 11/ATA/-The Bank of Albania reported that the level of non-performing loans reached to 11.4% in February as compared with 11.3% in January.

The report of non-performing loans remains in the lowest levels in about a decade. However, the recent indicators show a slight increase if compared with the end of last year.

The Central Bank emphasized the need of taking new measures so that to bring to normality the report of the non-performing loans targeting one digit levels.

The lost credits being removed from the balance sheet has had the main impact while it is followed with the banks showing an added care in giving new credit.

Meanwhile, at present the situation can be managed and the non-performing loans do not pose a major factor for curbing crediting of the economy./e.xh/j.p/p.s./
