TIRANA, April 11 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ “The opposition has chosen the street rather than the dialogue, yet we are willing to sit at the table for the sake of Albania and talk about the rules of the play and electoral benchmarks.
This is what Minister of State for Relations with Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, stated.
Spiropali said that the ruling majority has always been willing to talk about the rules of the play and electoral standards, however they would not negotiate the vote.
Meanwhile, she said that the opposition is hampering the process of EU accession.
“In the big endeavor to approach Europe in the state-building history, Albania has faced up to two platforms, unification and accession into Europe and platform of obstruction. Over the last year the appearance of this relation has been spoiled because history has never seen any sinister effort of such proportions to keep Albania hostage to the past and stand in its way towards EU.”
The relation with Europe is not merely bureaucratic, Spiropali says, it is an inalienable need for transformation.
“Such a structured effort of the opposition to smear the reputation of Albania over 5 years and a half has played out in all forms. Justice reform, which has been mocked by them at the very beginning, was attacked by the opposition once it started to come to fruition,”Spiropali said assuring that this reform is irreversible.
