Marku: Unnecessary delays in investigation cases

TIRANA, March 27/ATA/-Albania’s Chief Prosecutor Arta Marku said that the prosecutors should not deal with political reactions on every issue, but complete every investigative case in time.

Marku made the statement during the annual work analysis of the Prosecution Office of Tirana and that of Appeal in the capital.

According to Marku, there have been only few cases among those investigated at Tirana Prosecution Office that have been taken to court and charges raised.

Marku also said that the money laundering cases are also a concern as there have been only a few cases registered and even less taken for further judgment to court.

« There have been noticed unnecessary delays in investigation of several cases. There are some important cases that have not been treated for years and have remained at the drawers of the prosecution office implying a pronounced absence of responsibility. There have been numerous complaints of the citizens at the General Prosecution Office”, said Marku./p.s./
